How do I benefit from setting and meeting my own goals? Daily Plans: Friday, 21 April

1) Warm Up: Fifteen for YOU (15 min)
  1. Check your planner to see upcoming due dates and your SMART goal. Check your timelines for your Personal Choice Project and your Choose your Own College Adventure story.
  2. Choose how to spend your 15 minutes:
    1. Work on any task identified above, including homework.
    2. Study for an upcoming test, or to get your brain prepped for 10 day review.
    3. Revise your notes or organize your binder.
    4. Read or draw quietly.
2) Family Time: Class Challenge (10-15 min)

*Class vote: Hula hoop challenge outside or paint chip skits inside*
  1. Hula Hoop Challenge:
    1. Stand in a circle holding hands.
    2. See how fast you can get the hula hoop back to its starting place.
    3. Strategize.
    4. AGAIN! FASTER!
  2. Paint Chip Skits:
    1. In groups of 3-4, use paint chips to develop an interpretive dance, rap, poem, or skit that uses each paint chip name.
    2. Share your skit with the class.

3) Lesson Plan: Long Term Project Work Time (Until the end of class)
  1. Open your Personal Choice Project AND your Choose your Own College Adventure story.
  2. Review the timelines and decide what you need to work on first today.
  3. Write yourself a sticky note with 2-4 things to accomplish by the end of the period. Reminders:

    2. DUE TODAY: Submit your Choose your Own College Adventure DRAFT to me. This should be completely written, but can have some funky parts. Add any specific questions as comments. Hit "Turn In" at the top of the document.
    3. Next Week: Revisions and reading groups and final turn in for Choose your Own College Adventure; Project work days and presentation prep for Personal Choice Projects; Presentations of projects on Friday - bring snacks and activities!

    1. Stand Up-Hand Up-Pair Up and tell one classmate something you are proud of from your story or project.
    2. Find a new partner and ask for their advice on one part of your project.
    3. Return to your seat and use their feedback.
