1) Warm Up: Create the Ideal Classroom (20 min)
- Look through the presentation below.
- Design, create, sketch, or describe a model classroom that would be ideal for your learning style/s.
- Combine your design with the designs from your table.
- Share out the most interesting features of your classroom.
- Quickwrite:
- Set up a note sheet for today. EQ: How are countries interdependent? How can I organize related ideas? Topic: United Nations & Graphic Organizers
- List at least 10 characteristics of or things you could find in the ideal classroom.
2) Literacy Block: Why is the United Nations important in our lives?
- Before you read, share out what you know about the UN.
- While you read, take notes. Include at least the following information:
- When and why did the UN start?
- What are the reasons the UN started?
- What are the UN's goals?
- What recent issues has the UN tackled? How?
- After you read:
- Explore the United Nation's Sustainable Development goals here.
- If you got to make big progress toward meeting ONE of the goals, which would you choose to focus on? Why? List the goal and at least two reasons you would want to work on this goal.
- Which goal would you be most upset about not working on if you could only work toward one goal? Why?
- Finally, which goal is lowest on your priority list and why?
3) Lesson Plan: Graphic Organizer Gallery Walk Prep
- You will be assigned a graphic organizer to create by Thursday.
- Divide your paper in half.
- On one side you will write the basics about your graphic organizer type:
- Describe the use of your graphic organizer.
- State: When is your organizer useful?
- State: When would you not use this organizer?
- On the other half create a graphic organizer using your notes from the article.

4) Success Workshop and Closure:
- Check and respond to your Lee Co and Cougarmail emails.
- Fill out your planner with all upcoming due dates, tests, assignments, etc.
- Set a SMART goal for this week.
