1) Warm Up: Creative Writing (5 min + 3 min to share)
Choose one of the following to respond to.

1. Plan the next big television drama. Choose a historical person, event, or time period to be featured. Either describe three of the main characters or the plot of the first season or pilot episode.
2. Write a bunch (at least 3) of first lines of stories naming a person and a problem he or she needs to solve. OR Write a first line and begin telling your story.

2) Success Workshop: Finish, Revise, Organize (15 minutes)
Work on the tasks below:

1. Make sure you have 7 questions and 4 skills listed in your Reading Skills Self-Evaluation.
2. Choose a new skill and work on it.
3. Revise your notes by highlighting key terms, making sure notes are not in sentences, and writing HOT questions and summaries. 
4. Organize your binder. 

3) Lesson Plan: Parent Night Planning Day 4

1. Go to your Parent Night group.
1. Ms. Cunkelman: Scheduling and Logistics, Welcoming, Translator Team
2. Ms. Nickel: Student Leaders, Public Relations, College Planning Pros
3. Mrs. Testa: Babysitters, Decorations and Hospitality
2. Today is your last work day! Share anything that needs to be printed with your teacher ASAP so bags for parents can be stuffed. 
3. Make a To Do list on the board and check things off when accomplished. Write a Print List and tell your teacher when you are ready for things to be printed.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

LEC will be hosting a Parent Night to show you how your child learns at LEC. Parent Night will be held in the LEC building this Thursday on November 5th at 6-8 P.M.

Our goal for Parent Night is to help you understand how your child learns and what methods are being used to educate your student. Several presentations will be shown to help you grasp what LEC is about.  Babysitters will be present to take care of any younger siblings who might need it.  Light sweet snacks will be provided.

We hope that you will take advantage of this opportunity to be enlightened and brought up to date with your child’s learning. See you there!
