1) Warm Up: Use Introductory Commas Like a Pro! (10 min)
- Read the introductory comma rules.
- As you read, add your own example in the margin to the right of the table.
- Turn one of your examples into a complete sentence.
- Then, add commas where needed in the Quick Test.
- Finally, identify the introductory comma rule that applies to each Quick Test question.
2) Literacy Block and Lesson Plan: Point - Counterpoint: What is the ideal role of parents in education?
- Before the Seminar:
- Summarize your article.
- Write three questions.
- During the Seminar: Refer to the article to build ideas for parent involvement at LEC.
- After the Seminar: Reflect on the seminar in a TPEQEA paragraph.
3) Success Workshop: Plan, Revise, and Organize
- Fill in the survey to begin planning Parent Night.
- Revise your notes:
- Highlight key terms.
- Write HOT questions.
- Add summaries.
- Organize your binders.
