1) Warm Up: Use Introductory Commas Like a Pro! (10 min)
  1. Read the introductory comma rules.
  2. As you read, add your own example in the margin to the right of the table.
  3. Turn one of your examples into a complete sentence.
  4. Then, add commas where needed in the Quick Test. 
  5. Finally, identify the introductory comma rule that applies to each Quick Test question. 
2) Literacy Block and Lesson Plan: Point - Counterpoint: What is the ideal role of parents in education?
  1. Before the Seminar
    1. Summarize your article.
    2. Write three questions. 
  2. During the Seminar: Refer to the article to build ideas for parent involvement at LEC. 
  3. After the Seminar: Reflect on the seminar in a TPEQEA paragraph.
3) Success Workshop: Plan, Revise, and Organize
  1. Fill in the survey to begin planning Parent Night.
  2. Revise your notes:
    1. Highlight key terms.
    2. Write HOT questions.
    3. Add summaries.
  3. Organize your binders.
5) Exit Ticket: Update your Google Calendar. Add upcoming assignments and Parent Night on 5 November.
