1) Warm Up: Math and Logic Puzzlers (5 min)

  1. Determine the numerical value of each shape in the puzzle to the right.

2) Literacy Block: The Whole Picture Representation 3 (12 to work on your own, 3 to share ideas)

  1. Take out The Whole Picture sheet.
  2. Complete the third example.
  3. Highlight the y-intercept and the slope in different colors in each representation.
3) Time for You! (10 min)
  1. Review the grading checklist here
  2. Polish your published and illustrated your poem. 
  3. Your timeline:
    1. Write your own "Where I'm From" poem by Friday.
      1. Monday: Prewrite and Draft
      2. Today: Finish Draft
      3. Thursday: Peer Evaluate
      4. Tuesday: Publish and Illustrate, Self-Identity Reading
      5. Wednesday: Seminar Prep and Tutorial
      6. Thursday: 10 min to publish poem, Identity Seminar
      7. Friday: Family Day Poetry Readings (small group)
      8. Monday: Identity Trees
      9. Tuesday: Identity Trees Due
4) Lesson Plan: Socratic Seminar on Healthy Self-Identity in Children is Everything (35 min seminar + 15 min to reflect)

  1. Take out your Socratic seminar sheet.
  2. Pull the article up on your computer.
  3. Contribute to the seminar.
