Homework: You will have 10 min to finish publishing poems tomorrow in class before the seminar. Not done in that time? 5 points will be deducted. Plan accordingly.

1) Seminar Prep + Publish your Poems

  1. Warm Up: Healthy Self Identity Quiz-Quiz-Trade (7 min)
    1. Not done with your TRF? Skip Quiz-Quiz-Trade for reduced TRF points.
    2. Write a question you are interested in asking the author of the article from yesterday OR a question about self-identity. 
      1. Example: Do you think the author is saying "Keep your kids in a bubble?" Why or why not?
      2. Example: What activities that you've taken part in have helped you build a positive self-identity?
      3. Non-example: Describe the real world you are from. (This is straight from a sticky note. USE YOUR BRAIN!)
  2. Plan your seminar questions on your Socratic seminar sheet.
  3. Use remaining time to work on publishing your poem.

2) Before the Tutorial: Prepare! (Switch rooms at 1:50)
  1. Get your resources out!
    1. Notes
    2. Textbooks
    3. Blog/website posts
    4. Assignments
  2. Break into groups.
    1. Ms. Nickel: Biology and Earth and Environmental Science and AVID
    2. Mrs. Testa: English 
    3. Do better than this on your TRF.
    4. Mrs. Cunkelman: Civics and Economics and World History
3) During the Tutorial: Inquire
  1. Tutors moderate!
  2. One presenter will give a 30 second speech.
  3. Then, group members will write a question to ask presenter.
  4. Tutorial starts. Make sure to take three column notes.
  5. Switch to the next presenter.
  6. Repeat.
  7. Finished? Work on homework. Stuck? Ask questions!
4) After the Tutorial: Tutors and Students: Complete the reflection. (at 2:35)
