1) Warm Up: DEAR Reflection (5 min)
- Option 1: Think about the character or person you are reading about. Describe this character. Then, decide what club your character would be in at LEC or what club your person would create. Justify your choice.
- Option 2: Describe a character in what you are reading. Think back to ancient history. Which ancient civilization would your character be best suited for surviving in? Justify your choice.
- Share your DEAR Reflection with your group.
- Then, discuss with your group what makes a book recommendable and not recommendable. List this on a note card.

- What's got you stuck?
- How do you know what to do?
- After you play:
- How did you learn to play?
- What strategies always worked? Sometimes worked? Could you tell when they'd work?
- Describe what it's like when you learn something new?
- Make your own puzzle!
- Option 1: Make a puzzle to teach a little kid (or Ms. Nickel) how to play the game.
