Who am I? Where am I going? How will I get there? (Day 5) Daily Lesson Plan: Friday, 27 January

Big Idea: Systems have interrelated parts
Essential Question: Who am I? Where am I going? How will I get there?
Objectives: I can...
...set and meet a short term personal goal.
...get to know my classmates through silly storytelling.
...choose how to use my time.

1) Warm Up: Time for YOU (30 min)
  1. Check the SMART goal that you set on Monday. 
  2. Choose how to spend your time between now and the end of the period. 
    1. Meet your SMART goal.
    2. Keep working on Task 3: Personal Projects Analysis or Task 2: Identity Tree. 
    3. Work on homework.
    4. Read quietly.
    5. Complete revisions.
    6. Study.
2) Family Time Part 1: Sentence-Picture-Sentence (15 min)

  1. Take out a blank sheet of paper. 
  2. Write a sentence at the top of your paper. This sentence should be about your week, but does not have to be school related. 
  3. Pass your paper to the right. 
  4. Draw a picture of the sentence on the paper you have now. Fold the sentence over.
  5. Pass your paper to the right.
  6. Write a sentence of the picture on your paper. Fold the picture over.
  7. Pass your paper to the right.
  8. Continue until the owner has gotten their paper back. 
  9. Share your original and final sentences.
  10. Discuss what made this challenging/fun/frustrating/meaningful/less meaningful/etc.
3) Family Time Part 2: Choice Time (Until the end of class)

  1. Continue working on your Identity Tree, Personal Projects Analysis, homework, or revisions.
  2. Play a board or card game.
  3. Color or create a work of art.
  4. Start a book club.
  5. Vote on going outside for the last 15 minutes of class.
  6. Submit your application to talk at AVID Family Night.
  7. See me if you need more/other ideas! (Robot letters to Mr. Foster)
