1) Warm Up: Verb Tenses (15 min)

- Before you do the exercise: Read the chart to the right. In your notes, write four of the example sentences and which tense they are an example of.
- Complete the exercise here. If this is WAY too easy for you, create your own ten question quiz with at least two options for each blank.
- After you do the exercise: Write two of your own example questions with two options per blank

- Before you Read: Make a claim. Is being bilingual helpful or not? Why?
- Follow along as the poem is read aloud to the class. The readers are: Daniela and Savannah
- After you read:
- Skim the poem here.
- Choose an important idea (home, power, friendship, success) with your partner.
- Write a poem alternating lines.
- Highlight your two favorite pairs of lines. Share one with the class.
