1) Warm Up: UNCG & NC A& Trip Feedback + Creative Writing (25 min)
  1. Fill in the form below.
  2. Then, choose to continue working on a story you have already written or to respond to one of the prompts below:

    1. Take a look at artist Travis Head's work here and here. For three personal projects you have, design, name, and list how to earn three merit badges. (Want to see more? Travis Head currently has an exhibition in Raleigh.)
    2. Write about your creative endeavors: What creative things do you do? Who do you share your creativity with? Will you use creativity in your future career? 
2) Literacy Block/Lesson Plan Part 1: College Fair Planning Day 1 (35 min)
  1. Before you read:
    1. Have you been to a college fair? Describe the experience.
    2. List people who can help you get into college.
  2. While you read "A Counselor's Year in Review", list the following:
    1. What does a college admissions counselor do?
    2. What questions should they be able to answer?
  3. After you read:
    1. Your Task: Find and bookmark the contact information for a college admissions counselor or regional representative for your first choice school.
    2. Class Discussion:
      1. What is your role at the college fair?
        1. Act as a representative from your assigned college.
      2. How will we prepare?

        2. Research your college online (you may also call or email an admissions counselor).
        3. Create a poster presenting the introductory information about your college.
        4. Plan an elevator pitch selling your college.
        5. Share your information in a mock college fair.
        6. Revise your presentation as needed.
      3. When is the college fair?
        1. Friday, March 24 from 12:45-2:30 in the gym.
        2. Students from local elementary and middle school students will come.

  1. Open and copy the document here.
  2. Use PowerSchool and Blackboard to identify any late or missing work.
  3. List and prioritize your tasks for the week.
  4. Write a related SMART goal in your planner, as well as any due dates and upcoming test dates.
  5. Get to work on any upcoming or overdue assignments or revisions!
