1) Warm Up: Journalling (Write for 5 min, share for 3 min)




2) Literacy Block: 10 Highly Effective Study Habits
  1. Before you Read:

    1. Write a prediction: Which study habit will improve your test scores the most? 
      1. Use if/then/because form.
      2. Example: IF students make flashcards, THEN their test scores will be high BECAUSE _____.
      3. Non-example: Flashcards are the best.
  3. As you Read:
    1. Create a graphic organizer that records the 10 highly effective study habits.
    2. Suggestions: Outline, Cloud Map, T-chart (strategies you use now, strategies you don't use)
  4. After you Read:
    1. Highlight the two strategies that you think will help you the most. 
    2. Conclude: Was your prediction supported or not? Tell me in a point and example sentence.
    3. List five action steps you will take from now on when studying.
3) Lesson Plan: Fill in the form below to plan your study tool.


4) Success Workshop: Revise and Organize

  1. Revise your notes that are related to your study tool.
    1. Highlight key terms.
    2. Add HOT questions.
    3. Write summaries.
