Performance Task: Make sure your folder is ready to go for Parent Night. Tomorrow is rehearsal!

1) Warm Up: (until 1:27)
  1. Name the career cluster you are currently thinking you want to start a career in.
  2. Reflect on WHY you want to explore this cluster. Think back to your Identity Tree and Where I'm From poem. 
  3. Describe the reasons for you choice in pictures and words. (Example: I chose education because I LOVE learning and helping others, so I could draw a book and someone helping someone up.)
  4. On your index card: Write your favorite thing about LEC or your favorite LEC moment so far. 
2) Literacy Block: Discover UNC-G! (until 1:45)

  1. Go to the link here.
  2. Scroll over “Discover UNC-G” and look at the infographic. Make one inference based on the graphs.
  3. List five things you will look for as you choose colleges. Put a star by each item if UNC-G has what you want.
  4. Skim the “About” and “Student Life” sections.
  5. Classify the type of informational text used on the UNC-G website using the resource here.
  6. If you have more time, continue to explore UNC-G's website!

3) Success Workshop: Note Revisions and Study Circles (until 2:05)
  1. Work on revising your notes.
    1. Ask a classmate if you are missing details.
    2. Highlight vocabulary words.
    3. Add HOT questions.
    4. Write summaries and highlight vocab words.
    5. Show me at least 3 sets of complete notes.
  2. If you finish early: Study with classmates by using the questions and highlighted vocab words in your notes.
4) Lesson Plan: Parent Night Committee Work Time (until 2:42)
  1. Go to the correct room for your Parent Night Committee.
    1. Mrs. Cunkelman: Video Showcase Committee
    2. Mrs. Testa: Hospitality Committee
    3. Mrs. Kitchens: Translators Committee, Order of Events Committee
    4. Ms. Nickel: Student Discussion Leaders Committee, Babysitting Committee
  2. Discuss what you need to accomplish before tomorrow. Write a list and show it to your teacher.
  3. Work!

5) Exit Ticket:
  1. Give the teacher in your room a list of materials you need printed AND anything you have left to do!
