1) Warm Up: Mad Lib 2
- Write a three-line story about the craziest thing from this week.
- Cross out three nouns, two verbs, and one adjective.
- Ask your neighbor for replacements.
- Read your neighbor your story.
2) Literacy Block: Organize your mind to organize your life
- Before you read:
- Scroll through the article and list text features you see.
- Set up your fish bone cause and effect diagram.
- As you partner read:
- Fill in the main idea of the article.
- Add on the effect of each rule.
- After you read: PExA
- Write a point sentence that responds to the question: Has AVID helped you organize your mind to organize your life?
- Provide an example that supports your point.
- Analyze the impact AVID has or you hope it will have on your life.
- Finish your graphic organizer poster. (15 minutes)
- Fill in the categorization graphic organizer as you rotate through looking at different posters.
4) Success Workshop: SMART work time
- List all of the work you need to revise or turn in.
- Set a SMART goal and work on revising notes or work or completing assignments.
5) Exit Ticket: Source and Sink
