1) Warm Up: Color to De-Stress (10 min)
  1. Color the design on Monday, 5/15's page.
  2. Alternatively, choose to study or finish any last last last minute revisions.
2) Review: Poema en Dos Voces (10 min)
  1. Work with a partner.
  2. Choose 2 related vocabulary words.
  3. Write alternating lines that describe the words without using the words.
  4. Swap poems with another group and see if you can figure out what the words are.
3) AVID Awards: Create an award for the person on your index card. Give your award to the person named. (10 min)

    How can I use my time productively as we get close to exam time? Daily Plans: Friday, 12 May

    ...add on to what other's have reviewed.
    ...identify what I need help with.
    ...set and meet short term goals.

    1) Warm Up: Collaborative Annotation (20 min)

    1. Take 5 minutes to put polishing touches on your one-pager and any other parts of your packet. 
    2. Move to your numbered off groups.
    3. Pass your paper to the right.
    4. Read the one-pager and warm ups and notes in the new packet.
    5. Add one sticky note that adds some facts, formulas, terms, etc you think the author might need to review. Put an exclamation point next to one thing you are glad this person listed because you needed to review it.
    6. Repeat step 5.
    7. Pass again. This time, write sticky notes that tell the author of the packet how to improve their packet to get as close to a 100 as possible. Refer to the grading page as needed.
    8. Pass again. Find something in this packet that you had forgotten to review. Add a "WOW! Thank you!" sticky note to that page.
    9. Return packets to their owners. 
    10. Read through the notes in your packet. 
    11. Fill in the T-chart in your packet to identify topics you still need to review and to note topics you have realized you've mastered.
    2) Pomodoroish Study Time (Until the End of Class)

    1. Fill in the 2nd and 3rd goals in the table. Consider:
      1. Revising your final test packet before you turn it in today.
      2. Revising your AVID assignments
      3. Chatting with me about topics listed under "Workshops"
      4. Working in a QUIET study group
      5. Collaborating to complete a study guide
    2. I will set a timer and tell you when to move from task to task.
    3. Remember to tally each time you get distracted.

      1. Go to Google Classroom and open your "Choose your Own College Adventure" and "Personal Choice Project" documents. Determine your grade and read my feedback and revision to do list. Decide if you will revise. (If you have below a 75, I highlyyyyy recommend you revise!!!!)

      3. I will set a timer and tell you when to move from task to task.

        2. Fill in the "What I learned" column of your table with what you have reviewed in study groups and in class over the last two days.
        3. Complete the final row in the column to identify what you still need to review. You'll use this over the next few days to set goals.

          3. Continue.
          4. End by throwing your snowball into the recycle bag.

          1) Warm Up: Grocery List (12 min)
          1. Skim your TOC round up tables. Notice: What concepts did you need to review? Want to teach?
          2. Flip to Tuesday, 5/9's page in your packet.
          3. Assign each concept you said you wanted to review or teach a cost based on criteria you set. Ideas:
            1. The more likely is that the concept will the on the final, the more it costs
            2. The more interested you are in the concept, the more it costs
            3. The more applications of the concept, the more it costs
          4. Justify the cost of each concept.
          2) Notes Review: Bullet Point List (12 min)

          1. Choose a class to focus on.
          2. Take 10 minutes to turn the most important things to remember into a bullet point list.
          3. Highlight key terms.
          4. Find someone else in the class you focused on. 
          5. Add three of their bullets to your list (even if they are from another class you are in).
          3) Study Groups (40 min)
          1. Before Study Groups:

            3. Briefly share what you need help with or could help others with.
            4. Fill in the "Before Study Group" table.
            5. Additional Resources Today:

          1. Sit across from a partner so one of you faces the board.
          2. Get your partner to guess the term on the board using pictures, descriptions, or gestures.

            4. In the "What I want to know/ask/teach", list questions you need to ask someone to clarify your confusions OR could ask someone to help them.

            2) Notes Review: Graphic Organizer (20 min)

            1. Choose a class to focus on.
            2. Take 15 minutes to turn notes from that class into a graphic organizer.
              1. Show main ideas you need to remember.
              2. Around the main ideas, list and define key terms, write formulas, sketch helpful diagrams, etc.
              3. Draw arrows showing how everything connects.
              4. Summarize your organizer in two sentences.
              5. Highlight key terms.
            3. Find someone else in the class you focused on. Share your organizer with your classmate. Discuss at least one thing you can add to your organizer to make it even more helpful. Add it!

            3) Study Groups (35 min)

              1) Warm Up: "AHa!" Comic (15 min)
              1. Choose a new assignment from "Part 2: Assignment Review" to focus on today.
              2. Record the basic information about that assignment on Friday, 5/5's page in your packet.
              3. Use the directions in your packet to draw your comic.
              4. Write a two sentence summary.
              5. Highlight all key terms that you used.
              6. Stand Up-Hand Up-Pair Up and share your comic with a classmate.

              2) How to Survive and Thrive as a Sophomore (20 min)

              1. Re-label the following the following parts of the "Sophomore Slump Avoidance Panel" table on today's page:
                1. The table: Survive and Thrive as a Sophomore
                2. The first column: 9th grade vs 10th grade
                3. The second column: Resources to use
              2. With your table:
                1. Create a T-chart in the first column that compares and contrasts 9th and 10th grade.
                2. List resources and strategies you can use that you learned about in ACA, Advisory, and AVID or that you used this year in the second column.
                3. Determine how to deal with the scenario on your card. Add notes to the third column.
                4. Act out your scenario and describe how you'd deal with the scenario. Take notes as other groups present.
              3. Finally, fill in the reflection.

              1. Set 2-3 specific goals for today.
              2. Note how much time you will spend meeting each goal.
              3. Use a timer and circle your level of success at meeting each goal you set.
