1) Warm Up: "AHa!" Comic (15 min)
- Choose a new assignment from "Part 2: Assignment Review" to focus on today.
- Record the basic information about that assignment on Friday, 5/5's page in your packet.
- Use the directions in your packet to draw your comic.
- Write a two sentence summary.
- Highlight all key terms that you used.
- Stand Up-Hand Up-Pair Up and share your comic with a classmate.
2) How to Survive and Thrive as a Sophomore (20 min)
- Re-label the following the following parts of the "Sophomore Slump Avoidance Panel" table on today's page:
- The table: Survive and Thrive as a Sophomore
- The first column: 9th grade vs 10th grade
- The second column: Resources to use
- With your table:
- Create a T-chart in the first column that compares and contrasts 9th and 10th grade.
- List resources and strategies you can use that you learned about in ACA, Advisory, and AVID or that you used this year in the second column.
- Determine how to deal with the scenario on your card. Add notes to the third column.
- Act out your scenario and describe how you'd deal with the scenario. Take notes as other groups present.
- Finally, fill in the reflection.

- Set 2-3 specific goals for today.
- Note how much time you will spend meeting each goal.
- Use a timer and circle your level of success at meeting each goal you set.

The AVID district program is hosting its second Summer College Road Trip! This is a GREAT way to visit colleges for ONLY the cost of lunch! Below you can see the dates and locations. You'll tour the school, eat in the dining hall (or bring a bag lunch and make this free!), see a dorm, and visit students' favorite places around campus!
The AVID district program is hosting its second Summer College Road Trip! This is a GREAT way to visit colleges for ONLY the cost of lunch! Below you can see the dates and locations. You'll tour the school, eat in the dining hall (or bring a bag lunch and make this free!), see a dorm, and visit students' favorite places around campus!
How to sign up:
1) We'll share the application with you once we have it. More trips will be added after we leave for the summer, SO PLEASE check the Lee County Schools' homepage here for the updates. Fill in the application! This is first come, first serve!
2) Get a permission slip from by Ms. Delmaine's door (these will be out sometime during 10 day review - so keep checking). Complete the form with your parents/guardians and return it to Ms. Delmaine!
3) On the day of the trip, meet at Lee Senior around 6am with about $10 for lunch.

June 20: High Point University
July 25: ECU
