1) Warm Up: Comma Splices and Fused Sentences (15 min)
  1. Go to the link here.
  2. Describe a comma splice and fused sentence. Giving an example may help!
  3. Complete #1-16 of the exercise. Record your answers on your sheet.
  4. Add your sheet to your binder as TOC #18, Comma Splices and Fused Sentences Practice.
2) Time for You: Graphic Organizer Poster (15 min)
  1. Finish your Graphic Organizer Poster (Due tomorrow!).
  2. Graphic organizer resources:

3) Tutorials
  1. Before Tutorials:
    1. Gather your relevant notes.
    2. Take 5 minutes to summarize and write HOT questions.
    3. Figure out what room to go to:
      1. 3rd Period:
        1. Mr. Stern with Karla: Math I, English, World History, AVID 
        2. Ms. Nickel with Consepsion: Math 3, Math 2, Physical Science
      2. 4th Period:
        1. Ms. Delmaine with Consepsion: English, World History, Math 1
        2. Ms. Nickel with Karla & Eva: Math 2, Physical Science, AVID
    4. Determine who will present first using your concept ratings.
  2. During Tutorials: 
    1. The presenter will share a 30 second speech.
    2. Group members take notes and someone takes notes for the presenter.
    3. When the presenter gets it, ask him or her to explain the POC the way he or she would to a confused classmate.
    4. Ask more questions or move on.
    5. Repeat!
    6. Finished early? Work on homework!
  3. After Tutorials/Exit Ticket: Complete the reflection.
