How will we design the interior spaces in Sanford?
Happy Monday Sanford Redesigners!
*************************
Homework:
-ACA Kahoot due by Thursday (share with ntest903)
-ACA journal due Friday
-TRF due Wednesday
*************************
Big Idea: Powerful choices require knowledge
Essential Question: Where am I going? What will I give back?
Objectives: I can...
...evaluate my ACA experience.
...determine the importance and urgency of my assignments.
...plan a revitalized block in Sanford.
*************************
1) Warm Up: ACA Journal (10 min)
  1. Open a new document and name it ACA Journal 9.
  2. Log in to Blackboard and go to your ACA course.
  3. Click "Journals" on the left side bar.
  4. Read the prompt.
  5. Write your response. (Remember, TPEQEA = college ready writing!)
  6. Type your response in your google doc.
  7. Copy and paste your work and submit it using the "Create Journal Entry" button at the top of the screen.
2) Literacy Block: Eisenhower's Urgent/Important Principle (15 min)
  1. Before you read:
    1. Find someone who knows who Dwight D. Eisenhower is (or look up who he is).
    2. Discuss at your table: Why would he need to be good at time management?
    3. On your own:
      1. List your current and upcoming tasks, projects, paper, homework, chores, events, tests, etc.
      2. *Star* the items on your list that will help you meet your academic and personal goals.
      3. Eisenhower's Urgent/Important Principle
        From Mindtools
      4. Draw smiley faces next to the items that will help someone else.
  2. While you partner read: List the four ways to classify a task (ex: Important and Urgent) and an example of each type.
  3. After you read:
    1. Look back at your list from before you read. Label each task for how it would be classified using Eisenhower's Urgent/Important Principle.
    2. Make a claim: Is this the best way to determine how we spend our time? Why or why not? See if you can propose a more effective way to manage time.
How will we use our space in Sanford?
3) Lesson Plan: Sanford Redesign (Until 2:42)
  1. Break into groups.
  2. Review each person's goals for the day. Make sure each person has a specific task.
  3. Meet with the business group to establish a budget.
  4. Get to work!
  5. Be sure to list any materials you need on the front board so I can see if we can get them.
  6. Questions to consider as you work:
    1. How will the project component you are creating help Sanford?
    2. Is your component realistic?
    3. What issues in Sanford relate to your product?
    4. Can your team stick
       with a budget?
    5. How much does your product cost?
4) Exit Ticket: Sanford Redesign Log

  1. Evaluate your contribution and time management.
  2. Write a highlight from today.
  3. Add this sheet to your binder and TOC.
