Homework: SERIOUSLY YOUR LATE WORK NOW!
*No late work after this Friday because you need time to just study!*
**********************************
Big Idea: Systems
Essential Question: How can my review systems help me succeed?
Objectives: I can...
...illustrate how I study.
...compare how I study to ideal ways to study.
...create a study calendar.
...begin studying.
**********************************
1) Warm Up: How do you study? (10 min)
  1. Create a comic strip or timeline showing how you study.
  2. Consider:
    1. When do you start studying?
    2. How long do you study for?
    3. Is there music on?
    4. What snacks and rewards do you have?
    5. Do you study with other people?
    6. Do you procrastinate? How?
2) Literacy Block/Review Time: The Best Ways to Study (50 min)
  1. Review the first page of the Curve of Forgetting.
  2. On the second page, in the corner, list 5 things from any class that confused you.
  3. On your Curve of Forgetting, list how you have reviewed those concepts so far.
    1. Example: Day one: You learned about slope. First Reminder: You drew different types of slopes, wrote equations, solved problems. Second Reminder: Your Math XL was due. Third Reminder: You had a benchmark.
    2. Today, we'll choose awesome "fourth reminders" that will help you remember and understand these concepts and excel on your exams!
  4. Skim through the study tips.
  5. Add on class favorites for each type of learner.
  6. Go back and add your fourth reminder methods.
  7. Watch the video on acing finals. Revisit your warm up. Compare the tips to what you do now.
  8. Illustrate how you will study during this 10 day review and exam period. Include 5 written tips.
  9. Create a study calendar using all of this information.
    Active Recall vs Passive Review
  10. Set a studying goal.
  11. Start studying!
3) Success Workshop: Bring up your grades! (25 min)
  1. If you have missing work or work to revise, FINISH AND REVISE!
  2. If your binder is so messy you can't find work to review, reorganize!
  3. If you are good to go, keep studying!
4) Exit Ticket: SMART Start and Treat Yo Self

  1. On your sticky note, write your goal for studying for this week.
  2. Then, add how you will treat yourself if you meet your goal!
