...take brain breaks.

1) Warm Up: Collaborative Annotation (20 min)

  1. Take 5 minutes to put polishing touches on your one-pager and any other parts of your packet.
  2. Move to your numbered off groups.
  3. Pass your paper to the right.
  4. Read the one-pager and warm ups and notes in the new packet.
  5. Add one sticky note that adds some facts, formulas, terms, etc you think the author might need to review. Put an exclamation point next to one thing you are glad this person listed because you needed to review it.
  6. Repeat step 5.
  7. Pass again. This time, write sticky notes that tell the author of the packet how to improve their packet to get as close to a 100 as possible. Refer to the grading page as needed.
  8. Pass again. Find something in this packet that you had forgotten to review. Add a "WOW! Thank you!" sticky note to that page.
  9. Return packets to their owners.
  10. Read through the notes in your packet.
  11. Fill in the T-chart in your packet to identify topics you still need to review and to note topics you have realized you've mastered.
2) Pomodoroish Study Time (Until the End of Class)

  1. Fill in the 2nd and 3rd goals in the table. Consider:
    1. Revising your final test packet before you turn it in today.
    2. Revising your AVID assignments
    3. Chatting with me about topics listed under "Workshops"
    4. Working in a QUIET study group
    5. Collaborating to complete a study guide
  2. I will set a timer and tell you when to move from task to task.
  3. Remember to tally each time you get distracted.
  4. Workshops Today: Need help? Meet with me about any of the following:
    1. Long-Term Goal Setting
    2. Test Anxiety
    3. Making Useful Study Tools
    4. Summer Plans
  5. Brain Break Time - Video to the right :)
  6. **Turn in your packet! Stick a note on the front listing any revisions you made to your Choose your Own College Adventure Story OR Personal Choices Project and where I can find the revisions (ie: paper, email, new shared document, original document).**
