Big Idea: Structures have interrelated parts
Essential Questions: What can I do to meet my goals?
Objectives: I can...

...review concepts I've learned recently.
...determine what choices college students have to make.
...revise and use my project proposal.
...evaluate my progress toward my SMART goal.
*************************
1) Warm Up: Learning Log Games (15 min)
  1. Take 4 minutes to skim through as many notes as possible and make a list of key terms OR make a concept map for each class with key terms listed around the name of the class. Do this in your Learning Log week 4 box (TOC #13).
  2. Find a scrap piece of paper and pen/pencil and notes.
  3. Stand Up-Hand Up-Pair Up to find a partner.
  4. Partner A (clue giver) faces the board, Partner B (guesser) faces away from the board.
  5. For each word I write on the board, clue givers will act the word out, sketch it, or describe it.
  6. The first pair to call out the correct word earns a point.
  7. Play will last for 10 minutes.
  8. The team with the most points wins!

  3. 4th Block: Career Fair Conversation
    1. Set up a note sheet with your name and period. Put "Career Fair" as the title.
    2. Discuss: What was awesome about our college fair? Frustrating?
    3. With this in mind, what should we do, ask, and not do at the Career Fair today? Write this in a T-chart on your paper.
    4. Assignment:
      1. While at stations, ask career professionals questions like the following:
        1. What advice do you have for high schoolers interested in your career?
        2. What is the most fulfilling and most challenging part of your career?
        3. If you could do any other career what would you do instead and why?
        4. Can you tell me what a day is like in your job?
        5. Do you get to work with other people?
      2. Between stations, jot down the career professional's name and job and 1-3 interesting facts or tips you heard.
      3. At the end of the career fair, help break down tables and answer the following questions:
        1. What career that you learned about today is most similar to your first choice career? What do you like about that career? What worries or concerns you about that career?
        2. Share any tips for improving future college fairs.
      4. Turn this paper in to me!
    5. Come to my classroom at the beginning of 4th period to walk up together!
