Can classifying ourselves give us power? Daily Plans: Friday, 5 February

Big Idea: Powerful choices require knowledge
Essential Question: Can classifying ourselves give us power?
Objectives: I can...
...identify people's general personality types and motives.
...use different story elements to write a scene.
...build family and/or finish work.

1) Warm Up: DEAR Reflection (7 min)
  1. Name a character or person you are currently reading about.
  2. Choose: What MBTI type OR Color Code color would this person be?
  3. Cite evidence.
  4. Share with your table.

2) Book Club: Story Element Smash Up (15 min)
  1. Sit with your random people generator color groups.
  2. Roll the dice.
  3. The person with the highest number will describe the story element from his or her group as listed in the table. This person will not roll again.
  4. Repeat until each story element is accounted for.
  5. 5 people in your group? Create a combined antagonist or protagonist.
  6. Now that you have all of the story elements, tell a story or create a comic strip.
3) Family Day in LEC (1:55)
  1. Mrs. Testa's Room: Math revisions
  2. Mr. Stern's Room: Free time/board games
  3. Ms. Cunkelman's Room: Missing work
  4. Ms. Nickel's Room: Innovation Challenge
